About

Consultant Physiotherapist | Injury Biomechanics Specialist | Clinical Researcher

Dr Chris Bramah helps elite sports teams and athletes make confident, evidence-based decisions about injury assessment, rehabilitation, and return to performance.

With over 15 years of experience in Premier League football, Olympic sport, rugby, and boxing, he specialises in biomechanics-led diagnostics and rehabilitation strategies for complex lower limb injuries — particularly hamstring strains, tendon injuries, and ACL reconstruction.  His work combines advanced technologies — including force plates, 3D motion capture, and isometric testing — with clinical expertise to deliver individualised, data-informed solutions for high-performance environments.

Clinical Expertise, Grounded in Science

Chris specialises in the application of biomechanics and sports science to guide injury assessment, rehabilitation, and confident return-to-sport planning.

**Key modalities:** Force plates · 3D motion capture · Isometric strength testing · High-speed video analysis

Research and Academic Work

Chris’s clinical practice is underpinned by active research focused on the biomechanics of lower limb injuries and return-to-performance decision-making. His work bridges laboratory methods with applied rehabilitation to ensure athletes benefit from the latest evidence.

**Methods:** Sprint profiling · Gait analysis · Asymmetry metrics · Load tolerance

Chris has published in peer-reviewed journals, supervises PhD students on applied rehabilitation topics, and regularly presents at national and international conferences and workshops for clinicians, coaches, and researchers.

Philosophy & Approach

“It’s not just about getting someone back on the field — it’s about returning sustainably, confidently, and performance-ready.”

I believe the best rehabilitation strategies are evidence-based, individualised, and athlete-centred. For me, it’s not just about getting someone back on the field — it’s about making sure their return is sustainable, confident, and performance-ready.

My approach draws on both biomechanics and clinical insight to understand how movement patterns, physical qualities, and tissue loading interact to shape injury risk and recovery. By combining data-driven diagnostics with hands-on clinical expertise, I aim to give teams and athletes clarity in decision-making and confidence in their rehabilitation journey.

Every athlete is unique. My role is to provide the framework, evidence, and support that helps them — and the teams around them — return to peak performance.

Areas of Specialism

I provide consultancy and rehabilitation services across the following focus areas, developed through more than 15 years of applied work in elite sport.
